The Marrowhall

The Marrow Lances' chapter-house above Highbridge — a fortified war-hall, muster-yard, and the one neutral ground every Vale power has had to walk into.

A blunt grey keep of a building straddling the Highbridge road, hung with the banners of every employer the Lances have ever served — which is to say, all of them, side by side, a wall of enemies forced to share a roof. The muster-yard rings with drill from dawn; the oath-ledger lives in a locked room off the hall. It is safe inside only because hurting a Lance under their own roof would make an enemy of the one sword everyone needs.
