GAZETTEER · THE RAMPART FOOTHILLS
The Sundering Scar
aka the fault-head, the warm crack
The raw fault-line of the Marrowgorge head where the Sundering's crack first opened the ground — the rock is glassy and still faintly warm four hundred years on, a pilgrimage-point for the Listening College and the Ashen Temple both.
The crack is narrow enough to step across at its origin point, the stone walls fused smooth by whatever force split them. The air above the crack is cold and clear and holds a warmth that has no business lasting this long — you feel it on your skin before you can explain it. Both the College's diggers and the Temple's walkers mark this place, each reading it differently.
