House Deepvein's worked galleries, now cut under the Farshield's shield-wall: the deepest bronze and resonite veins the Stonewright Moot has ever ruled legal to quarry. The clan's old workings back in the Northern Reach are the Old Galleries, a delve now.
Every course down is dated and signed against the Moot's own ledger, a discipline the Deepclan Reavers mocked on their way out and that House Deepvein has never once relaxed since. When the mainland veins ran thin the Moot let the clan carry its seat across the water to the risen stone of the Farshield, and Deepvein cut the Sunken Rampart the same patient way it cut the drowned half, deeper than any other legal working, not because it found richer veins, but because it is the only clan patient enough to keep asking the Moot's permission one course at a time. The old worked-out diggings in the Northern Reach it left as the Old Galleries.
