GAZETTEER · THE EASTERN CRAGS
The Imperial Reach
A wind-gutted Vallen Imperium waystation astride the old barrow road, where the legion that sealed the Weeping Vault was quartered. Cut stone half-eaten by sand, a revenant or two still at post.
The Imperium quartered its sealing-legion here while the Vault-work was done — a waystation of cut stone on the one straight stretch of road the mesas allow. The roof is gone and the walls are three-quarters eaten by four centuries of wind and sand, but the Legion's Mile of paving below tells you the builders meant to stay. The sealing-order for the Weeping Vault was cut into a lintel stone that still stands; the Vallen revenants at the gate-posts have been at their posts since the inscription was fresh and have not stopped. They do not attack unless you touch the lintel.
