A bandit camp pitched off the east road out of Vallenfield, close enough to town to be a problem — Vera Redhook's crew has gotten bold enough to camp in plain sight.
The Redhook crew work the east road out of Vallenfield, falling on carts and stragglers and dragging the takings back to a ring of hide tents around a cookfire. Vera Redhook, who leads them and gave the crew its name, has stopped hiding: they camp where the watch can see the smoke, daring anyone to come collect on it.
