The newest oath in the Marrow Lances — a frontier-born Lance-Sworn still proud enough of the word he swore to believe the whole company keeps it.

Reddin took the marrow-oath three weeks ago and has not stopped polishing the iron Adda issued him. He believes the Lances are exactly what they say they are: the honest sword, the word you can buy because it cannot be bought off. He is the company as it would like to see itself, which is precisely why Vossk keeps him near the door and the silver-road run — a clean Sworn carrying a clean wagon is the best advertisement the cracked company has. He has not yet met the part of the Lances that has a price.
