GAZETTEER
Correth, the Bronze Seat
The Imperium's far capital, west beyond the Rampart and the inland sea — a city the size of a nation that the Vale only ever heard about. Whether it still stands is the oldest open question in the world; no Vale-dweller alive has been there or met anyone who has.
Correth is a place you reach only in books and boasts. The Bronze Seat of the Corren line, it sat where the imperial roads all began, and the Vale was the dim far end of one of them. The garrison sergeants still toast it, the tithe-rolls still address it, the relic-thieves still hang under its law — and not one of them could tell you if there is anyone left in it to care. Four hundred years ago the letters stopped. The Rampart is a month's hard travel even to its foot, and nobody who set out to cross and ask has come back to say. Correth is the proof, held just past the horizon, that the Vale is a corner of something far larger than itself.
