The Mistways Deep
A flooded cave system off the Mistways gorge where the cold beck disappears underground, with Greenwake charm-cords strung through the first galleries and lost in the dark beyond.
The Greenwake have mapped the first three galleries and say little about the rest. The charm-cords go in — knotted at forks, looped at drops — and then stop, tied to a peg someone left in a hurry. Nobody who followed the last cord past that peg has come back to say where it goes. The water that runs in from the gorge comes back out changed: colder and the wrong colour, faintly mineral-warm.
