The Lance-Captain's sword, passed hand to hand for two hundred years — said to dull against a man you've sworn to protect and bite deeper into one you've betrayed.
A plain, perfect longsword worn smooth by a dozen captains' grips. Whether its edge truly knows an oath or whether two centuries of Lances simply believed it does, the effect is the same: no Captain has ever broken a contract while carrying it, and the one who tries to is said to feel it turn cold in the hand. To carry the Oathblade is to be the company's word made steel.
