GAZETTEER · THE MIRRENMERE
The Brine Spring
A hot freshwater spring bubbling up through the salt on a low island — the only sweet water in the drowned country, so every traveller and every predator knows it.
Geothermal pressure pushes warm fresh water up through the salt flat of this otherwise unremarkable island. It is the only reliable sweet water between Siltmouth and Sresh-Dar, which makes it a watering stop for caravans and a hunting ground for Mere Gnasher that have learned travellers always pass through.
