Ashfall Town

A dozen ash-brick buildings at the end of the old Imperium road, permanently hazed by the Emberthrone — the only inhabited settlement in the waste.

Stone and ash-brick hold the heat and make the nights survivable. The Pyre Wardens garrison one hall, Vurath the Smith forges in another, and Ember Factor Orin keeps his buying-table in the one drinking-room. Everyone else passes through on the way to something worse.
