The Vael Pillar
aka The Vael Resonator
A working Vallen Imperium arcane pillar recovered from the flooded nave of the Drowned Chapel of Vael — still lit, still charged, and still doing the one job it was cast to do four hundred years after the smiths who made it died.
The bronze-and-crystal column is half a man's height and holds a charge no one living can explain — the priest-engineers built these to feed a working spell-circle without a caster standing over it, and nobody now can say how, only that the ones the water swallowed came up still doing it while the ones left dry in the open air went dead. Intact. The flood preserved what the Sundering could not finish destroying. Stand a spell-circle near it and the working draws power straight from the pillar instead of the caster, cheaper and steadier than any hand-cast working. The Listening College would call it a miracle of the Imperium's lost craft; the Sealed Choir would call it exactly the kind of thing that should stay under cold water. It is both of those things and it does not care which one you are.
