The Drowned Censer
A salt-blackened censer from the altar of the Tidewrack sink, of a sea-rite older than the Ashen orthodoxy. Its smoke does not drown — and neither, for a while, do you.
Older than the Temple that disowns it, the censer hangs on its chain in the drowned shrine and still smolders somehow under the tide, breathing a thin grey smoke that the water will not take. Light it and the breath comes easy down where it should not — the drowned halls open to you on a long, calm lungful, and the salt-logged faithful who keep the place mistake you, briefly, for one of the old rite's own. The Ashen Temple calls it sacrilege and the Tide-Pickers call it the best reason to run the sink at all.
