The Folded Horizon
A palm-long Vyr rule that opens into a perfect level wider than the table that bears it.
Six pale leaves unfold from one bronze pin, yet no join can be felt when they lie straight. Vyr surveyors set it across fresh foundations and watched a bead of blue glass seek the true horizon, even underground. One leaf is bent, so the bead now pauses at every hidden crack before it settles.
