Marrow-Lance Toll Token
A stamped iron disc bearing the Marrow-Lance cross-hatch — proof of paid passage on the barrow road. Useless as a weapon; priceless as an argument.
The Tollwright's Camp stamps these from scrap iron with a hand-die: a crude lattice of crossing lines, the Marrow-Lance emblem in miniature, the year-mark scratched on the back. A paid traveller carries one and shows it; the Lances on the road let the traveller pass. A traveller without one who shows up at the camp after being on the road is explaining themselves. A traveller who shows up at the camp after being on the road with one of these is a customer. The token is valid for one circuit of the crag road and void on resale, per Reza's standing rule, though enforcement of the void-on-resale clause is one of the more interesting conversations you can have at her camp fire.
