The Lifting Yoke
A crescent of pale metal that spreads the weight of a fallen tower among nine absent stones.
Nine empty collars line the inner curve, each sized for a counterweight. When a burden is slung beneath it, the yoke rises a finger before the ropes take strain, then waits for the missing weights to answer. The ninth collar is polished smooth, matching the scar on the Ninth Counterweight recovered far inland.
