The Southward Reading Leaf
A thin bronze leaf whose punched stars make sense only when its lost northern mate is imagined beside it.
Lines of pinholes cross the metal in bands no Vale scholar can read. Held toward the south, three holes brighten at noon and a fourth stays dark. The matching Northward Reading Leaf bears the other half of the reckoning, though the two were scattered far apart.
