The Cup-Caliper

A cook's bright caliper that judges bowls by the comfort of the hand as well as the width of the rim.

One jaw measures the vessel; the other rests against the maker's palm. A small pointer settles only when both curves agree, which is why old Vyr cups fit the hand so well without ever looking alike. The palm rest is polished by long use, and the measuring jaw is cracked but holds.
