The Ninth Counterweight
A stone no bigger than a loaf that strains the arms as if a gate hung from it.
Nine shallow seats circle its white-metal collar, though only the ninth bears wear. It belonged to a lifting set whose yoke has not been found in the Spur. On bare earth it is nearly unmovable; hang it from any worked arch and a child can raise it.
