Draught of Stillsap
Amber sap from the deepest root-galleries, distilled by the Sap-Drinkers — the only known brake on Verdigris Lung. It settles the cough and steadies the shakes in a salvor's chest, and roots the drinker a little deeper into the wood with every dose.
A thumb of cloudy amber in a wax-stoppered horn, warm like all the wood's blood. Drink it and the cough that tastes of coin eases, the shake goes out of your hands, and the green sickness that comes of too many years breathing sealed vault-dust slows to a crawl. The Sap-Drinkers swear by it and are the warning that comes with it: every draught buys time against Verdigris Lung by spending it toward becoming a tree. There is no third road the wood offers. The Far College would empty its vaults for the recipe; the Greenwake would kill to keep it buried.
