A pierced silver plate that teaches any careful smith the shape of a hinge too balanced to creak.
The plate carries no words, only nested cuts fine enough to catch flour dust. Laid over wax, it leaves the full pattern for pin, leaf, and hidden bearing in one press. The lower corner is scorched, yet a hinge copied from the surviving lines will swing beneath a child's breath.
