The Rain-Cup of Nine Marks
A little household cup whose nine marks count rain that has not yet fallen.
Vyr families set such cups on a sill before planting roof gardens. The inner marks darken in order as wet weather draws near, though the cup itself stays dry. Its rim is chipped where someone once used it for salt, and the ninth mark has not gone pale in four hundred years.
