The Emerald Sword
A longsword whose blade is a single tapering shard of green stone, kept clear and cold under the drowned shrine of the Lady of the Long Water. The Hessk bow the green to her; this is the green given an edge.
The oldest reckonings keep the Lady of the Long Water among the Sworn Gods — the one the Hessk still bow the green to — and the drowned temples held that the living water and the living wood are the same blessing wearing two faces. The Emerald Sword is that blessing forged hard: a blade of flawless green that never warms, never dulls, and weeps a little clean water along the fuller when it is drawn. Where it cuts, the wound does not just bleed — it greens, the living water forcing itself into the breach so roots of cold green stitch the foe to the ground and the rot of the world rushes in to fill what was opened. Pilgrims called it a mercy, because the Lady's killing is also her growing. The Drowned Fangs would drown a town to have it back; the Hessk say it was never anyone's to take.
