A green-black stone that rolls uphill until it reaches the safest line across a gap.
The stone is flattened on two faces and ringed with tiny brass points. Set near a ravine, it turns and creeps toward firm ground, stopping where opposing banks answer one another. A hard fall chipped one face, and now it shuns spans longer than thirty paces.
