The Wayfarer's Ledger · BARROW
Chapter 140
The Ash-Sealed Barrow
also called the unnamed barrow, the older dead

An ash-buried barrow the Bonesung shun and will not name, holding dead older than the Unclosed.
Somewhere out on the open ash the wind has half-buried a barrow no tribe will name aloud. The Bonesung-of-the-Vale walk wide of it and leave it no ancestor-poles, for the dead inside are older than the relic they keep — older than the Unclosed, of a making the gravesinger's prophecy does not cover. The drifts seal and unseal its mouth with the seasons, as if the ash itself is keeping it shut.
