Chapter 78
The Last Keeper's Roost

Sumeh the Tideless's lean-to on a south-cove fin, where she keeps her skiff and her vigil between rows out to warn travellers of the Temple's coming boats.
A half-barrel of roof over a drift-plank floor on a rock spur above the tide-mark: the bare minimum of shelter for someone who does not feel the cold anymore. Sumeh's skiff lies beside it on rollers, always ready for the dusk row to the shrine. She will speak to anyone who comes in peace, and she will not lie to them, which is unusual in this region.
