Dustmere Hollow

A sheltered green hollow where a failing spring crosses the barrow road — the one liveable fold in the Eastern Crags and the last place that sells water before the delves.

A handful of stone-and-hide cots, a wash-fed seep ringed by the only real grass for miles, an ash-yam plot, and an Bonesung herd-camp that comes and goes with the seasons. The spring is failing the same year the Vault's runnels are widening, and the hollow's elder, Maret the Water-Reader, thinks the two are the same water. Everyone who passes through Dustmere is either going to the delves or coming back from them, and the hollow has seen both states enough to know which face is which.
