The Wayfarer's Ledger · CAMP
Chapter 163
Halfway Camp

A lean-to and a fire-ring on a flat shoulder partway up The Frostcrown's south-west flank — nothing sacred about it, just the last dry wood and the last easy ground before the climb turns real.
Whoever built this didn't leave a name, just a stone-ringed fire-pit, a lean-to frame lashed from wind-killed timber, and a cairn of firewood scavenged below the snowline. It is mundane in every way the ground above it isn't — no grave-custom, no offering, no Korl claim on it at all — which is exactly why it's useful: the mountain has one unclaimed patch of flat ground before the alpine starts in earnest, and someone thought to put a fire on it.
