The Wayfarer's Ledger · CAMP
Chapter 167
The Dusk Camp

A moving Reshi and Wandering-Cups night-camp on the South Road — hide-tents and copper kettles that travel with the caravans and pitch at a different rib-notch each season.
The Dusk Camp is not a place so much as a pattern: a ring of hide-tents that follows the herds and the moon, pitching wherever a rib-notch gives shade and the season's route demands. Veshti Goldeye's circuit halts here and the Wandering Cups leave a fire and a story about which pan is brine — for the cost of a favour. A night-traveller who finds it has found the safest place in the flats.
