The Sulfur Flats

A wide yellow-crystal depression south of the Emberthrone where sulfur vents have encrusted the land in mineral formations that glow faintly at night and slowly poison the air.

Eerily beautiful: yellow and white crystal pillars from knee to head height, catching the mountain's glow. The obsidian toads live in the warmest sulfur pools near the centre. Extended time without cloth over the mouth is unwise; the air is heavy and sharp and you only notice how wrong it is when you are already dizzy.
