House Ashwake's seat, carved as its own safe enclave from the edge of the deadliest surface country in the Vale-side world — the hearth holds the line the Emberwaste's ash cannot cross.

Ashwake Hearthhold is the one warm room in the Emberwaste's furnace: House Ashwake's wards and watch-fires hold a settled, governed enclave right at the edge of the ash that will kill an unprepared traveler a day's walk further in. The enclave exists so the Asheni questline can start here, safely, before the Waste itself demands its due.
