The Throatfall Sink

A meltwater cave where a feeder stream drops into the rock below the gorge wall — flooded lower galleries haunted by cliff stalkers and a Rime-Skinner cache.

The stream falls in at a lip of mossy granite and the sound is everything underground; the Skinners use the noise to mask the cache they keep down there among the cliff stalkers. The road's missing travellers wash in through a fissure in the lower gallery — along with what they were carrying when they vanished. A good ear for water and a torch that doesn't drown can follow the current to the answer.
