The Drowned Well

A collapsed Imperium hold-cistern flooded black in the far south, the only sweet water for a day's walk underground — and inhabited by something that keeps it from going stagnant.

The Vallen Imperium sank this cistern when the Sundering cracked its seal and the aquifer rose. Now you must swim past the sand-lurker nests to reach the deep basin, and something older than the Imperium reads the water in the dark below. Its surface smells clean and tastes sweeter than rain; the lurkers breed around the edges and leave the deep pool alone.
