PERSONAE · THE NORTHERN RAMPART
Three-Cairns
aka Korl-of-the-Three-Cairns, the Pass-Holder
A Korl pass-holder who keeps the Wind-Cut Pass's cairn-line, re-stacking the stones the wind throws down, and crosses at dusk when no settled man dares — because the speaking wind says nothing to his people.
He'll guide you over the pass for a price, and tell you, flatly, that the wind is not the worst thing the pass keeps. He has strong opinions about the Wightcairn — his people left offerings there before the Stoneborn started digging toward it. The quarrel is not violent yet. He would rather it stayed that way, but he'll settle it the other way if someone forces the choice.
