Valenfeld's general store keeper — dry-humored, tally-stick memory, opinions on nail sizes nobody asked for.
Tobb has run Tallow and Nail since his father's knees gave out, and he runs it the way his father did: credit for anyone who's ever paid him back once, no credit for anyone who hasn't, and a flat refusal to explain why his nail sizes don't match anyone else's system. He is not warm exactly — he'll tell you the price before he tells you it's good to see you — but he is fair to a fault, and he quietly forgives more debt than he collects, which he'd deny to his own reflection. He knows everyone's business because everyone's business eventually needs a nail, and he has strong, unwelcome opinions about how House Vandahl is running the mine into the ground while owing him for three barrels of pitch.
