Hall Giant-Reckoner

aka The Reckoner

Korl war-chief of the crag War-Band, head and shoulders over any man, who names a toll for every gate he comes to and collects it with a frost-iron maul.

Hall came down from the high crags when the frost drove the herds low and never found a reason to climb back. He does not hate the lowlanders — he simply does not reckon them as people who get to keep things, any more than the weather does. He leads a loose line of giants the only way Korl follow anyone: by being the largest and the least tired. He carries the Reckoner's Maul, a slab of frost-rimed crag-iron, and he has reckoned more gates than men.
