PERSONAE · THE VALE
Fennug Old
Runs the Lame Ox on the Underbridge waterside — built the bar out of a beached barge-hull, and enforces the house's one rule (nobody drinks alone if they don't want to) with a ladle.
Fennug is the closest thing the Underbridge has to a government: no title, no coin of consequence, but more actual authority over the quarter's mood than the Writ-House or the Ledger's counting-floor. He waives the first cup for anyone fresh from Morel's Hold, keeps the fire going through the worst river-fog, and has personally ended more arguments with a raised ladle than the Marrow Lances have ended with anything sharper. Ask him why he built the bar out of a dead ox's namesake barge-hull and he'll tell you a different, longer story every time, on principle.
