PERSONAE · THE TIDEWRACK NARROWS
Corvin Thresh, the Beaconward
aka the Beaconward, Thresh
The keeper of Gull's Watch, a weathered Asheni wrecker who is paid by the Silt Hands and the customs-office both, and trusted by neither — he sells which nights the fire burns to whoever pays most.
Thresh came to the beacon after a life of marginally less honest work and found that this job suited him perfectly: he keeps a light that kills ships or saves them depending on the commission, and he knows every wreck in the narrows by name and date. He keeps a ledger himself — the wreck-list of the whole coast — and treats it as his pension. He will tell you where the Silt Hands keep their cache this season, for a price, and he will tell them you asked, for a slightly smaller one.
