The Ashen Temple's lone watcher at the Cairn-Shrine on the seat-approach — gentle, certain, and entirely alone in warning everyone off ground no one will leave alone.

Velthi maintains the cairn-shrine herself, hangs new ash-charms every fortnight, and greets every runner who passes with the same three sentences: the seat is Temple ground; the dead are not yours to lift; go with the ash. They nod and pass on. She is the only healer north of Pinewatch, which is why no one makes her stop. She sincerely believes the Sundering Scar's old engine is dying down on its own and that only violence to the site could wake it again.
