The Hermit of the Rib
A sun-mad former Ashen Temple priest who broke on the flats and dug his cell into a rock-rib — speaks in the parables of thirst and has been counting the bone-saint's prayers for years.
He has a name he no longer answers to. What he has instead is a wall covered in scratched theology that traces how the heat lies and why, and a daily count of how many times the bone-saint prays in the dark below the Sunbleached Hold. He knows the prayers are getting more frequent. He cannot explain why he keeps counting instead of leaving, and has stopped trying.
