A Sap-Drinker warden in the Weeping Boughs, half-rooted and translucent, who trades a draught that slows the Verdigris Lung for a promise you won't tell the wardens where.

Veth drank first to slow the shakes that started after she cracked open an old bronze fitting in the Rootbound Hollow and breathed a season's worth of its green dust before she knew what it was, and it worked: the amber sap quiets the Verdigris Lung to a tremor she can live with. She stayed to learn the dose. Now her skin goes amber in the right light and she moves with the deliberateness of someone watching everything at half-speed. She is warm, practical, and absolutely certain the Greenwake would drag her back to the Oak if they knew how much she's given away.
