Clerk Haddon

The Writ's tally-clerk at the Highbridge chain-house — a nervous, decent man whose brother's debt to the Counting-Floor taught him exactly how a copper in twenty disappears.

Haddon counts what crosses the span and has done for eleven years, latterly with one thumb on the scale for the Gaunt Ledger's benefit. He is not greedy; he is cornered, which from the Writ-House ledger's side of the desk looks identical.
