Vault-Weeper

The thing the Weeping Vault was sealed to keep — a great Mender-built creature that weeps a brine which burns the stone, which is why the stone is always wet.

The Temple's seal is the only honest work the old empire and the priesthood ever did together, and it is the only thing holding. The Hands tried powder on the door and the crag kept them out, which the crag has not regretted. What weeps behind it has wept since the Imperium fell. Some whisper it was released when the capital fell; others say it was never meant to wake. The Menders' reject pile goes deep.
