Emberback
A fire-bellied beetle of the cooling flows, big as a dog, that the Asheni roast over their own coals and call good eating.
Crack the shell and the heat that kept it alive cooks the meat. A live one rushed is another matter — it spits its belly-coals. The camp keeps a standing hunt for them in the dry season when other meat is gone.
