A bundle of Warden Esk's field notes on the Greatwood's current state — the grey rot's spread, Ledger incursions, and a map of the Mistways charm-cords with a gap marked 'last known.'
Written in the Greenwake's bark-script shorthand and pinned to a post in the Oakwatch hearth-shelter, the notes cover the past season. Three entries mark new grey-grass patches; one records the Charm-Cutters' second theft from the Oak's high boughs and the Greenwake's plan to have Maret watch the boughs instead; the Mistways charm-cord map has a gap at the Mistways Deep entry labeled in a heavier hand than the rest. The last note in the bundle is a single word in the Quiet language.
