A running tally the Meltwardens keep of Listening College tuners who went down into the Karth Deep's unmapped dark and were never brought back up, kept not as a memorial but as proof the Deep goes on below where anyone has actually mapped it.
The Wardenhold keeps the tally on a slate that never gets wiped clean, only added to. Every tuner who went past the Ice-Throat Sump chasing the First Fork is a mark on that slate, and the Meltwardens will tell you plainly that not one of them is confirmed dead. Frost-Mother Vael calls the Cold Keeper the cold's memory, not a creature with an end to it, and the wardens who have served longest say the mapped dark is a fraction of the whole. What's kept down there, and how far it actually goes, is not a question the Wardenhold answers. It's a question they've stopped asking.
