Mere Gnasher

A long-legged reed-strider that hunts the mere shallows in silent pairs and drags waders down by the ankle.

Grey as standing water and near to invisible against the reeds until it moves. The Siltmouth fishers read the herons' panic to know one is near; the birds always know first.
