THE CHRONICLE · THE EMBERWASTE
The Shore Arrival
During the Sundering, something emerged from the sea onto the Emberwaste's Lava Shore and did not return — burn-marks on the basalt that have not faded in centuries mark where it came ashore.
The scorched shades that haunt the Lava Shore are its remnant, or its echo, or its punishment — the Ashwalkers disagree and no one else has stayed long enough to find out. The burn-marks read as deliberate: a landing, not an accident.
