THE CHRONICLE · THE VALE
The Silver Collapse
The flooding and abandonment of House Vandahl's primary silver mine, which halved the house's income and began its public decline.
Six years ago the deepest shaft filled with ash-water overnight. The miners got out; the silver did not. Lord Vandahl paid to drain it twice; both times it flooded again within a season. It has not been opened since. Indryn does not include the mine in his estimates.
