A cabal of Vyr who drink straight from the crack in a dead god past all reason, trading flesh and sanity for raw power.

The Far College studies the crack in Vallen — the Drawing-Down that broke him — at a careful distance. The Discord stopped keeping the distance. They believe the wound in a dead god is not a mystery to be studied but a wellspring to be drunk, and they have drunk enough to come apart — minds narrowed to single fixed obsessions, bodies remade by the raw power they pour into themselves, each one a small failed draft of whatever they meant to become. They take captives not for ransom but for the drinking, feeding the living to the wound to see what answers. The thing that leads them was a Vyr scholar once; now it answers only to the name the well gave it, and does not remember its own unless the staff says it back.
